Akbars Chef Challenge in York is something I did a couple of years ago. I was out in York for a night out and stumbled across this place. After a few beers it was challenging but nothing that needed any training for.
I went back up to have another go at it.
Chicken, Lamb keema and potatoes cooked in the famous Akbar’s balti sauce served with naan and pilau rice. If one can finish this challenge alone you will qualify for a free dessert.
Its not as big as I remember it. I am sure last time, it was a family nan you got with it.
This is what I expected. Image from www.missiecindz.com
The meal was fairly substantial and good value but not really much of a challenge. I polished it off easily. The free dessert was an ice scream, which was really nice.
If you are just wanting a large meal, then I’d recommend it but in terms of eating challenges, its not much of a challenge.
